Hi, I’m Kari
(she/her)
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts, a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Facilitator, and a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. I specialize in complex trauma, religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and cult recovery. My approach helps clients connect with their innate wisdom to experience wholeness and transformation in mind, body, and soul.
about me
My journey to becoming a therapist has been shaped by diverse experiences that inform my compassionate approach to healing. Beginning my professional life in a nursing home, I witnessed firsthand the importance of dignity and connection in human experience.
As an undergraduate, I pursued dual passions for music and psychology, laying the foundation for understanding both the creative and analytical aspects of the human mind. Following my heart toward helping others, I earned my Master of Social Work degree, which led me to meaningful roles in education, community mental health, and elder care before establishing my private practice.
Yoga has been a constant companion on my path since age 16, and alongside therapy, it became instrumental in my own healing journey after leaving the high-control religion I grew up in. These experiences helped me find relief from chronic pain and religious trauma, deepening my understanding of the complex interplay between physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
My therapeutic approach embraces the healing power of nature, recognizing our innate connection to the natural world as a vital resource for restoration and growth. When not in session, you'll likely find me tending to my garden, lost in a good book, creating or appreciating art, enjoying live music, or spending time with my beloved rescue dogs, Janie and Hope.
I believe that healing happens in relationship and within supportive environments. That's why I look forward to welcoming you with a cup of tea or coffee as we begin our work together—creating a warm, accepting space where your journey toward wholeness can unfold.
