What to expect in your first session

How long is the appointment?

All appointments, including the first one, are 50 minutes long.

What will do in the first session?

The first few sessions are spent getting to know one another (and, if we’re meeting in person, you’ll get to meet my dog, Janie, too!). We will discuss what your goals are and what you think is important for me to know about you. If we are planning to incorporate trauma sensitive yoga within our work together, we may spend time in the first session engaging in a movement practice. We will decide together how you would like to spend the first session, including how long/if we engage in yoga/movement at all.

You do not need to tell me everything in the first session - or ever. There is never any requirement that you share more than you feel ready or comfortable to share. While your story is always welcome, and for some people it is very helpful to talk about difficult experiences they’ve had, it is never a requirement.

Can we meet in-person?

I prefer to meet with people in-person at my office in Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts. However, I also offer sessions on Zoom for people for folks who are not able or prefer not to meet in-person.

Where is your office?

My office is located at 110 State Road, Sagamore Beach, MA. If we decide to move forward in our work together, I will provide more details about how to access the office.
